Wednesday June 30
This morning the temperature was still warm, but without the bight blazing sun we all felt a little more comfortable than yesterday. For breakfast we had broccoli scallion quiche, fruit salad, and chocolate chip muffin squares. Cereal and yogurt were also out and available. We all pitched in to take care of camp during community work time, and then headed off to our AM focus areas. After that we had electives, some of the electives today were archery, paint and sip, viking quest, spa in the garden, yoga, and cardboard crafts. For lunch today we had rice, tacos, and 7 layer bean dip outside. Most of us used rest hour to relax in the cooler wind today and regain some energy, but backyard games were also popular. We had our PM focus areas and another elective block. Cold lemonade and carrot cake was available for snack today, as well as the usual apples and bananas. For E3 and cabin time the rest of the cabins had their turns on the water slide and low ropes course. Tonights dinner was the famous HP pizza night! We fired up the pizza oven around 2 pm to ensure it was hot enough by dinner time (about 675 degrees) and camp director Jon fired about 70 pizzas for the campers and staff. The evening activity was intended to be STONES which is a huge game of capture the flag with some different modifications and rules. Unfortunately, right at that time a quick wind and rainstorm came in so we stayed in our cabins for about 20 minutes while it passed. We will get to play stones tomorrow instead, so no big disappointment there. After the storm passed we were able to have an extended time for section campfires with songs and games. The rain broke the humidity and lowered the temperature, so we were all more comfortable tonight and fall asleep right away.
