Thursday July 7
A cooler morning after a cozy evening here in the North East Kingdom didn’t deter the early morning Polar Bear Crew. After a Hearty Breakfast of frittata, coffee cake, toast, and oatmeal we headed to community work time and our morning focus areas and electives. The oldest campers prepared their tents and bags for their overnight camp out as the rest of us did everything from pirate practice, to theater games, to survival skills. The CITS could be seen smiling and shivering at the water front as they continued their lifeguard training. Lunch was a great mix of food and a giant salad bar with many campers choosing to eat outside. After Lunch we had a siesta in our cabins before heading out to our afternoon focus groups and electives. The scullers got to watch five loons circle and dive and call while they practiced their skills on the water. We ate amazing home smoked chicken and potato dinner and ended the day with a massive game of human risk. We sang our closing song under a beautiful sky and a half full moon before heading back for sections campfires and another cozy night.
