Thursday July 21
Over half the camp went out for a morning Polar Bear swim in the cool but warming Hosmer Pond. Several swimmers noticed the enchanting smell of bacon even while swimming people began to get hungry. Our chant was strong and clear and carried far over the water. A nice breeze helped keep us cool on the way up to a breakfast of french toast with whipped cream and blueberry compote, bacon and fruit. Campers all pitched in for community work time before heading of to their focus areas. A sampling of today’s eclectic electives include: Aggressive self Care (think super relaxing), Rugby, Goat Walking, Collage Making, Archery, Dodgeball, Water Colors, Mandala Making, Lady Gaga ball, and so many more! We had a quick storm that kept us eating lunch and happily playing some board games until the storm was well passed. We had to shelter inside a few more times and had an extended cabin time because of the passing storms throughout the day. Campers did get some much needed chill and hydration time. Dinner was a super yummy roast chicken and potatoes meal with an ever fuller salad bar as our garden ramps up. Evening activity was an amazing game called Lava Rush played in the soccer field. It was made up and taught by our very own CITs and I think will become a camp tradition in the future!
