We all have a week under our belts here up on the hill - we are in the groove of summer camp living! We're welcoming the sunny warm weather. This session in particular has been spectacular for favorable weather. We began our day with a wholesome breakfast as we watched the fog lift in the valley below camp. Our first focus area began at 9:30, where campers choose between trustworthy farm and garden activities, a camp favorite of Dungeons and Dragons, wilderness exploration and extreme mermaids!
Campers jumped into the first elective of the day with some reliable favorites consisting of archery, farm and garden, beach volleyball and drip drip drop. Some campers were stewards to our local lake of Great Hosmer by helping remove Eurasian Milfoil in the elective of milfoil removal. Milfoil is an invasive species that the state has been combating for years, any little bit of removal helps and we are grateful for it to keep our lake healthy for marine life and humans alike.
After a savory lunch that consisted of orzo, ragu for both vegetarians and meat lovers and roasted carrots we all relaxed to digest our meals. We eased into our second focus for the day which campers could choose from advanced sculling, soccer, jewelry making, racket, photography, woodworking, thanksgiving arts and crafts, sailing and beginner mountain biking, phew! Our second set of electives consisted of pet rocks, floatation station, shelter build and sup yoga (yoga on stand up paddleboards!)
We're currently looking forward to lasagna and caesar salad crafted by our amazing kitchen staff. We are eternally grateful for all of them keeping us going! We're entering the final week with flourishing friendships and soaking in all that northern Vermont has to offer. We're lucky to be here and even more lucky that our campers are here to make Hosmer Point a reality!
