Sunday August 7
Today is the first day of the last week of camp. Polar Bears were up early and it was already warm when they jumped off the dock into the lake. Breakfast was eggs, rice and beans, ham, fruit, and cereal and oatmeal. A nice breeze and some building clouds helped cool us a bit as we headed into our first day of our new focus areas. Focus area options this week include, tennis, sailing, mountain biking, adventure exploration, MMY (mindfulness, meditation, and yoga), extreme fort building, sculling, HP Idol, and decorating for our final dinner together. Lunch was a big lovely mix of all kinds of leftovers and chicken burritos and a giant salad bar. In the afternoon we had rest and chill time and then our pm focus areas and electives. Electives we such fun activities as: water balloon fight, junior life guard training, spelling bee, farm and garden (featuring spring rolls), SUPing, cloud watching, beginning basketball, flower crowns, and fairy houses. We had a delicious lasagna and garlic bread meal for dinner. Our evening activity was Halloween (a fun spooky walk down the trail with your cabin) which was interrupted by a storm. We all hustled back to the theater where we watched a movie on the big projector. It was hot and sticky and fun and a bit of a late night, but everyone got to do the activity after a rain delay and we were all treated to one hour sleep in the next morning.
