Tuesday July 27

This morning the sun was orange again due to smoke from the Canadian wildfires. About 15 polar bears were spotted in the pond today before breakfast. We had quiche, pumpkin bread, and cranberry oatmeal for breakfast. Our morning focus areas and electives were warm and sunny. The VIP’s had a survival session with Thayer, our wilderness expert and boiled water over a fire to make their own nature tea. The rest of us redeemed our prizes for casino night such as a carwash, weeding the tennis court, ice cream party, s’mores, and a special Scott elective that involved raspberry picking. The VIPs will redeem their treats tomorrow too! Lunch was mac and cheese, green salad, tuna, and sweet potato fries. After lunch a light drizzle started that continued off and on for the rest of the day. In the afternoon some of the LIT’s lead our electives and we played pirates on SUPs, had a spa in the garden, finger painting, sailed in the rain, and played land vs water. We all rehearsed our lip sync choreography for the big performance tomorrow. Dinner tonight was chicken and veggie stir fry over rice. The evening activity, air raid, was super fun. We ran across the field basically throwing soft balls and flagglesocks at eachother. The VIPs had an exhilarating game of human spoons for their evening activity which involved lots of games and eventually chasing counselor Ethan on his bike.
