Today started off with our first Polar Bear Swim of the session! It feels great to get woken up by our campers singing the Polar Bear Chant. We had a big crew this morning: 40 campers! Counselors reported that everyone had gotten a good night’s sleep, and everyone was feeling hungry for pancakes, bacon, yogurt, and fruit at breakfast. At our staff meeting this morning, counselors reported that a couple of campers were feeling a bit homesick last night (which is very normal for this point in the session, when campers are tired and still learning their way around). Families - please know that we check in with campers who aren’t feeling 100% throughout the day, and we will call you if your child is having trouble adjusting. If you haven’t heard from a director, that means your camper is doing OK!
Campers were excited to head to their first focus area activities. This week’s offerings are: Balls Balls Balls, Yarnapalooza, Farm & Garden, Swimming, Woodworking, Puzzles, Tennis, Mountain Biking, Paint and Sip, LARPing, Taskmaster (a series of challenges), Mindfulness and Meditation, Photography, Magazine Making, Beginner Sculling, Field Games, Sailing, and Card & Board Games.
Lunch today is Taco Tuesday, everyone’s favorite!
Tonight we’re looking forward to County Fair Night, a fun evening of free-choice carnival games.
We’ll continue updating the blog every afternoon - so check back soon!
