Hello families! Today has been an absolute blast! Our action-packed schedule was brimming with exciting electives, mouthwatering meals, and an epic evening activity. So, let's dive right in and relive the magic! With the sun rising high in the sky, we began our day with boundless energy and excitement. Our breakfast spread featured fluffy pancakes and sizzling sausages, a perfect start to fuel our adventurous spirits for the day ahead.
We couldn't wait to dive into the fun electives planned for the day! Some of us ventured into the blueberry bushes for a delightful session of blueberry picking. As we collected sweet and juicy berries, the satisfaction of our efforts was truly rewarding. Others took center stage at karaoke, showcasing their talents and creating unforgettable memories as they sang their hearts out. For those seeking relaxation and serenity, the flotation station offered a calming escape. We floated in the cool waters of the lake, feeling the gentle waves rock us into a state of tranquility. And for the sports enthusiasts, street hockey was the ultimate thrill. We zoomed around the court, cheered each other on, and enjoyed friendly competition. The first day of focus areas goes down as one of great success!
After a morning of excitement, we gathered for Taco Tuesday! Tacos with a variety of fillings – from succulent seasoned meats to mouthwatering vegetarian options – were complemented by fluffy rice and an abundance of toppings. Guacamole, sour cream, salsa, lettuce, and more allowed us to customize our tacos just the way we liked them. The vibrant colors on our plates matched the enthusiasm in our hearts.
As the sun began to set, we filled our dining hall for a heartwarming dinner. Tender pork loin, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes, apple sauce, and roasted cauliflower, made for a wholesome and satisfying meal. As the evening approached, we geared up for an exhilarating game of Counselor Hunt. In this massive hide-and-seek adventure, campers teamed up to find their elusive counselors scattered throughout camp. The excitement was palpable as we strategized, laughed, and enjoyed the thrill of the chase. Besides the sheer fun, the game also earned us valuable Compass Cup points, adding to the friendly competition among teams. With our hearts full of joy and our bellies satisfied, we reluctantly bid adieu to the day's festivities and nestled into our cozy sleeping bags. The sound of loons and bullfrogs, lulling us to sleep with dreams of more adventures tomorrow.
