Saturday July 9
Link day is here! We all slept in and were not even roused by the sneaky (quiet) polar bear swimmers this morning. Breakfast was at 9 and most campers had a little more pep in their step after a longer sleep. After community work time campers broke off into teams for some friendly competition. We had disc golfers, a ping pong tournament, competitive floral arranging, board games, and more! Every camper participated for their team and lots of high fives were seen. After tasty BLTs for lunch we had two whole hours of free time which saw campers tye-dying, singing songs, swimming, playing games, or chilling in the cabin. At 4 we met at the water for the amazing Call of the Loon Race! Older campers who want to participate have their name chosen out of a hat to represent their team. The rest of us cheered wildly and listened to the race on the radio. Gryffindor set a new record and the cheers for the last team were just as loud as the first! We then had a lovely beach BBQ complete with camper vs staff volleyball, sup challenges and free swim. Stories, songs, and s’mores followed before a well earned cool nights sleep.
