Monday July 11
A very vigorous Polar Bear chant woke any late risers this morning. A beautiful mostly sunny and breezy day awaited us. We dove into the second day of our focus areas after a blueberry pancake and oatmeal breakfast. CITs were in the water all day lifeguard training on day 4 of 5. Butter knives began to take shape during woodworking and sailboats and sculls looked a little more stable as we continued to have fun and build our skills. Electives today were a ‘surprise’ and campers we most excited to see what fun activities counselors had planned for them. After a lovely open waterfront complete with water-slide, we headed to cabin time (where many practiced for Wednesday’s lip-sync and talent show). Dinner was a delicious mustard glazed meatloaf, braised kale, kohlrabi form our garden, mashed potatoes, and a huge salad bar featuring lots of garden veggies! We had a lovely evening before section fires and a long cozy nights sleep before a sleep in and brunch tomorrow!!
