Thursday July 28
Thanksgiving day here began with a sleep in and Polar Bears folks sprinting to the lake to make sure they didn’t miss their last morning jump in the water. We had lovely blueberry scones, fruit, meat, and cereals for breakfast. The morning saw an exciting counselor verse camper game of soccer, followed by a hearty lunch. With some packing time after lunch we began to think of getting ready to go home. Waterama awaited us all in the afternoon with a final blast and many silly games and relay races for us all to compete in. Dinner was an amazing array of traditional l and delicious food. We were extra hungry and appreciative as it was delayed by a thunderstorm for 45 minutes. We had a powerful and lovely closing ceremony at the trees as the mist rolled up the valley and the cloudy skies broke revealing a wonderful sunset. We honored our community leaders and then danced the night away before singing our last and slightly tearful closing song.
