Thursday August 5
This morning was breakfast sandwiches! English muffins with eggs, bacon, and cheese are the best way to start your morning at camp. This AM focus period we had sculling, theatre, puzzles, and more. For AM electives some of the choices were extreme bocce, deep sea fishing, flash mob, human foosball, and arch and craft. Lunch was pasta salad buffet with many types of food to choose from. We had a mandatory siesta today where we all enjoyed some quiet time in our cabins to rest and reset. We had our PM focus areas and then afternoon electives like SUPing, grass nap, martial arts and crafts, pump track, and mermaid lessons. Dinner tonight was smoked chicken that Jon prepared yesterday in our camp smoker. The evening activity was Casino night where people played games to earn money for their team and then bid on various ‘prizes’. Campers dressed up in wild costumes to attend the Casino. “Best Dressed” awards went to Sam Moore & Lillian Howe! Some of the prizes were fun things (like a movie elective in Charley’s Cabin), but not all of them are good (like serving hot chocolate to the polar bears!). This was a longer evening activity, so we headed straight to the cabins to prepare for bedtime.
