Sunday June 26

Today is the first day of our new focus areas. Fewer campers were walking or running for early morning roller bears as some wanted more sleep. Quite a few folks made it to Polar Bears though on the hot day. We are all about sunscreen, water, and lake time on these hot days. New focus areas for the week include: beginner mountain biking and sculling, D&D, guitar, Wilderness, Water fun, balls balls balls, soccer, and Olympic competitions. We had a lot of water and shade breaks throughout the day. After cabin time we had a marvelous dinner of lasagna, garlic bread, and salad bar. Evening activity was an all camp game of survival! Campers and staff were assigned links in the food chain (herbivore, omnivore, human, disease, etc) and we all ran around tagging each other and trying to get to watering holes! The whole camp went for shallow dusk swim to cool down and ‘wash’ off before we headed to our cabin sections for a small fire, songs, and a good nights sleep. As always the loons had a lot to say on the lake as we tucked into our sleeping bags.
