Application Instructions

  • The first step is to set up an account in our “Parent Portal” camper registration system. If you have an account already, the first step is to log-in.

  • The form may not save if you have to stop before it is completed.

  • If you have completed the CIT program at Hosmer Point, please select that you are "returning staff” rather than “new staff.”

  • If you are applying for your first year as staff at Hosmer Point and you were not a CIT, ​you will need:

    -The email addresses of three references (employers, teachers, or others who know you well)

    -To answer the following three questions (you may wish to write your answers first and copy/paste them into the form)

    1) What does it mean to be 'good with children'? What does someone do to make them 'good with children'? What ideas guide their actions? If you'd like, you can share a specific example of someone meeting this description.

    2) Working at a summer camp is different than working in many traditional workplaces (restaurant, store, cafe, office etc) in both beneficial ways and challenging ways. What are some benefits that draw you to this position? What are some challenges you might anticipate?

    3) Our goal at camp is to bring campers and staff together to build a respectful community where people feel they belong because of (not in spite of) their own unique perspectives and lived experiences. What will your perspective contribute to our community? What will you need from our community to help you feel supported and that you belong?
