Hosmer Point is a new camp being built on the foundations of an old, familiar camp. The spirit of the old camp will live on in the facility itself as well as through many traditions that will be continued. At the same time, a new camp offers the opportunity to establish new traditions as well! Campers in the first few years will play an important role in establishing new traditions as well as maintaining old ones.
We will continue the tradition of special events each session where campers are divided up or sorted into separate teams. Through evening activities or events during the day, campers compete for their team with the ultimate goal of the end of session trophy. Competitions range from capture the flag to relay races and mini world cup soccer games. Can Ravenclaw regain the House Cup (a Harry Potter themed special event in June)? Can New Zealand win the Gold?
Evening Activities are also a tradition for us at camp. Each evening we have a new activity for everyone at camp. The activities range from running/tag activities like Survival and Stones to strategy games like Human Risk and Quidditch to indoor events like Cabin Feud, Lip Synch and Grab Bag. We believe that bonds are created when all ages work and play together at the end of a busy day.
