The camp's unique goal and philosophy places the campers at the center of what we do, teaching them both the lifetime skills they'll use forever and the value of caring for our surrounding environment and being stewards of the future. We are committed to hiring a quality staff that shares these common values and philosophies.
Counselors live in cabins with the campers. A ratio of 8 campers to 2 counselors is typical. Counselors are responsible for the day to day life of their campers. They will be looked to as role models and coaches for our youngsters. Counselors must be fun-loving, patient and genuinely concerned for the welfare and development of young people.
In addition to living and working with the campers in the cabin areas, counselors will be responsible for leading activities in which the campers work on improving their skills in various areas. Counselors that have experience in multiple areas either teaching children or in the activity themselves will be considered. Having experience with children and the desire to continue working with these young minds is required.
Working as a summer camp counselor at Hosmer Point will be a challenging job, but one that we hope you will come to love. The rewards are exceptional when you are able to help a child learn a new skill, realize that they are important or even just make a new friend. Thank you for your interest.
